The Audacity is a new local group that formed in January 2025 to plan and implement creative collective action to counter the erosion of democracy, diversity, equity, and inclusion in the United States. 

The group works together across differences in philosophy, values, and methods within a broad commitment to nonviolent resistance.  This means that individuals and groups within The Audacity engage in creative works that not everyone in the group agrees with or endorses. This is what art is. It’s what diversity is. It’s what democracy entails.

All members of the public who support democracy and who oppose the current turn toward bigotry, corruption, and authoritarianism are welcome to join the group online at audacitycat.com or by emailing contact@audacitycat.com.

Please visit our home page and fill out the form you’ll find there to join one of our working groups. These working groups have emerged, and new working groups will emerge, through the step of volunteering: if somebody in the group says “someone should do X,” and if enough people step forward to help organize it, and it fits within our mission of taking nonviolent creative action together to voice opposition to the turn toward bigotry, corruption and authoritarianism, then it will happen!
